Konvo Android Privacy Policy
Updated October 16, 2026
Scope and contact
This policy covers Konvo: DMs Only for Android, package com.matthewchan.konvo. Konvo opens Instagram’s website in a focused WebView with the Feed, Reels browsing and Explore hidden. Konvo is independent of Instagram and Meta.
For questions or requests about data held by Konvo, contact matthewchan071010@gmail.com.
Instagram sign-in and content
You use your existing Instagram account. Sign-in credentials are submitted to Instagram on its own website inside the app. Konvo does not send your Instagram password, message contents or Instagram session cookies to Konvo’s servers. Optional Google sign-in for recovering existing free access is separate from Instagram sign-in.
The embedded Instagram website communicates directly with Meta to provide your account, messages, Stories, profile and activity. Information you enter or send there, including your account identifiers, messages and selected media, is processed by Meta. The website can also process IP addresses, browser and device information, cookies, approximate location inferred from IP addresses, interactions and diagnostics for service operation, security, personalization, analytics and advertising under Meta’s policy.
Hiding parts of the Instagram interface does not stop Meta from processing information when you use Instagram. Instagram may show its own ads in the web content. Its handling of information is described in Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Information stored on your device
Android WebView stores Instagram cookies and website data to keep your session available. Konvo stores onboarding progress, screen-time answers, preferences and cached interface configuration locally. The Android app does not transmit these onboarding answers to Konvo analytics.
Android releases through build 10 do not include a billing SDK. Later releases may offer the Google Play subscription described below. Konvo does not include an advertising SDK or a Konvo usage-analytics integration on Android. It does not request access to your address book, precise device location, microphone or camera. Files you choose through a system file picker are handled by the feature you choose to use on Instagram.
Subscriptions and existing free access
In versions that offer subscriptions, Google Play processes your payment. RevenueCat receives purchase information and an app-specific customer identifier to verify access, restore purchases and track subscription status. RevenueCat may send subscription events and customer identifiers to Konvo’s configured PostHog and Superwall service providers for subscription analytics and paywall measurement. Konvo does not receive your full payment-card details. A locally cached access result supports temporary offline use.
Existing installations retain their free access when updating. If you choose to recover free access on another Android device, Google sign-in shares a verified account identifier and email with Konvo’s eligibility service. This is used only to check the original eligible tester cohort and restore free access. The sign-in token is not exposed to Instagram or saved by Konvo.
The eligibility service stores a protected hash of the eligible email and, after recovery, a Google account identifier so access can be restored again. Short-lived security records prevent replay and excessive requests. Contact support to request deletion of this recovery record; deletion may prevent future recovery of free access.
Optional Screen Time and Instagram blocking
If you enable Usage access in Android Settings, Konvo reads Android’s usage events to calculate your time in the Instagram app. This calculation happens on your device. Konvo does not upload your usage history or keep a history of other apps you use.
If you separately agree to Instagram blocking and enable Konvo’s Accessibility service, Konvo uses Android’s Accessibility API to detect which app is open and show a blocking screen over the Instagram app. It does not retrieve screen contents, messages, passwords or keystrokes through this service. App detection is processed on the device and is not stored or shared.
Your blocking preference, permission consent, daily unlock count and temporary unlock expiry are stored locally. You can skip these features, turn off blocking in Konvo’s Screen Time controls, or revoke Usage access and Accessibility access in Android Settings at any time. These features do not block access to Android Settings or prevent uninstalling Konvo.
Configuration and support
The app requests an interface-compatibility configuration file from konvoinstall.com over HTTPS. This request contains ordinary network information such as your IP address and browser user agent. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes requests and may retain operational or security logs. The request does not include your Instagram password, messages or account identifier as a Konvo payload.
If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send. We use this to respond to your request and retain it as needed to handle the request, resolve issues or meet legal obligations. Please do not send passwords or private message contents.
Joining the Android waitlist or visiting this website is separate from using the Android app. Those activities are covered by the website privacy information.
Security and sharing
Konvo uses HTTPS for Instagram and its configuration requests. Encryption in transit does not mean all Instagram messages are end-to-end encrypted. Konvo does not sell your personal information. Instagram processes the information you provide to its service and uses its own service providers under Meta’s policy. Vercel provides hosting for Konvo’s website and configuration file.
Your choices and deletion
To remove Konvo’s local preferences and WebView data, use Android Settings → Apps → Konvo → Storage → Clear storage (the names may vary by phone). This signs you out locally and resets Konvo. It does not delete your Instagram account or messages held by Meta.
To manage Instagram sessions, content or account deletion, use Instagram’s settings and Accounts Center. Review Instagram’s account deletion instructions. Konvo cannot delete an Instagram account on your behalf.
To request deletion of your Konvo free-access recovery record, subscription customer record, subscription analytics, support messages or waitlist record, email matthewchan071010@gmail.com from the relevant email address. We may need to verify ownership or ask for your Google Play order ID; do not send your password. Deleting a Konvo record does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel separately in Google Play if you want to stop renewal. Some transaction information may need to be retained for legal, accounting or security reasons; we will explain any applicable limits and retention period when responding. Google and Meta control retention of information held by their respective services.
Age and policy changes
Konvo is not intended for children under 13. You must meet Instagram’s minimum age requirement in your country. We may update this policy when the Android app’s data handling changes; the effective date above identifies the latest revision.
